A new home never exists in isolation. It sits on a real street, next to real neighbors, in a neighborhood with its own character. One of the most important jobs a rendering does for a residential project is show how the proposed home fits its context, before anything is built.
This is a look at the set of photorealistic 3D renderings Xrender Studio produced for the private residence at 315 Chapel Hill Road in West Palm Beach, designed by Spina O'Rourke + Partners, a West Palm Beach architecture and interior design firm with more than 40 years in the region.
The project
315 Chapel Hill Road is a private residence in West Palm Beach. We produced a set of photorealistic views of the home in its street setting, based on the architect's plans and materials.

The challenge
Context-sensitive residential work puts specific demands on a rendering:
Streetscape accuracy. The surrounding context, setbacks, landscaping and scale have to feel correct, so the home reads believably on its actual street rather than on a stock background.
Massing and scale. The image has to show honestly how the home's volume sits on the lot and relates to its neighbors.

Our approach
We start every project by reading the plans and studying the materials, so we understand the design intent before modeling begins. From there:
Composition and context. We choose viewpoints that show the home honestly in its setting, and share early clay-model previews so the framing is agreed up front.
Lighting and materials. We build the scene to real West Palm Beach daylight and apply the specified finishes.
