On a custom home, a rendering is not just marketing. It is a decision-making tool. Seeing the design photorealistically, before a foundation is poured, is often when the important calls get made: this material or that one, this massing, this roofline, this relationship to the light.
This is a look at the set of photorealistic 3D renderings Xrender Studio produced for the new residence at 903 Upland Road in West Palm Beach, designed by Paul Lopa Designs, a West Palm Beach residential design firm.
The project
903 Upland Road is a new private residence in West Palm Beach. We produced a set of photorealistic views of the home based on the design plans and material selections.
As a West Palm Beach studio, working on a new home a short drive away meant we could stay close to the project through the process.
The challenge
Rendering a home while it is still being designed puts the emphasis on getting the fundamentals right:
Materials that read true. Finishes have to reflect the real selections, so the image supports genuine material decisions rather than a best guess.
Honest massing and light. The volume, roofline and the way daylight moves across the home have to be accurate, because these are exactly the things the render is meant to help evaluate.
Room to iterate. The process has to allow for refinement as decisions are made, without the project becoming chaotic.
Our approach
We begin by reading the plans and studying the materials, so we understand the design before modeling it. On a custom home our process is especially useful:
Clay-model previews first. Sharing early, un-textured previews lets everyone agree on composition and massing before we commit to detail, which is where a lot of the value is on a home still in design.
Materials and light. We build the scene to real West Palm Beach daylight and apply the specified finishes.
Photorealistic rendering, reviewed internally against our quality bar before it reaches the client.
Two structured revision rounds, so refinements are handled cleanly.
Standard turnaround is about two weeks, with a fixed quote within 24 hours.
Why it matters for custom homes
A rendering used well shortens the distance between a design and a confident decision. It lets the designer and homeowner see materials, massing and light together, catch things early, and move into construction knowing what the finished home will look like, not hoping.
